Q: What is design?
A: “Everything is design. Everything!” — Paul Rand
Q: How does the creative process work?
A: I handle each project from start to finish, beginning with the initial "creative questionnaire" to find out all the details of the job and any personal preferences or needs from the client.
Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: My business hours are determined by the needs of my prospects or clients within reason. I prefer to keep my weekends free to maintain a work/life balance. But in dire straits I will be accessible 24/7 to established clients.
Q: How much time does a creative job take?
A: True creativity and originality is time-consuming. Each project is different by nature; every client is different. There are too many factors involved to base time on past projects.
Q: Do you make speculative presentations?
A: The short answer is no. The longer answer; please refer to the following PDF, copied with permission from Creative Business.
Q: Do you charge a flat rate or by the hour?
A: A flat rate will be charged but if the work goes beyond the scope of the original signed, contract agreement, an hourly rate will be added.
Q: Do you charge for an initial consultation to find out if we are a fit?
A: No
Q: Does LMHdesign mark-up printing and material costs?
A: I will not charge mark-ups for printing and/or materials.
Q: What process do you use for client proofing/ approvals?
A: In the early stages of the relationship I present printouts or dummies in person. Once everybody’s comfortable, I may just send PDFs. All proofs from the printer need to be signed by the client. That’s a must.
Q: Do you work outside of your geographical area?
A: Although I much prefer face-to-face communication with a prospect, especially during the first meeting, I am open to working with clients outside my immediate area. With the internet, email, fax, phone etc. this can be accomplished quit successfully. I just recently created a business card for a friend who lives in southern California.
Q: How do you charge for changes and cost of proofs?
A: Three revisions are included in the flat rate of the original signed contract. Cost of inkjet printouts that I can make here at the office are also included. Since creative work is never really “done” revisions that become too excessive or have no other basis than ongoing “tweaking” a revised budget will be asked for.
Q: How does LMHdesign get comments and feedback
from clients?

A: After every completed job, clients will have the opportunity to submit comments and feedback through an “after action” survey.
